V is for a big fat Vic-tory
Obama, is the Only one I see
T is truly hoping he becomes the president
E is Even more than anything I could ask for...
VOTE it's all I that I can ask, of you.
Vote...it's more than just a thing to do.
America, we need to change it, cast your vote, please don't delay it.
Vote for Obama today!
You guessed it! Zac and I voted today and I was on a high all afternoon. :) This was my second presidentional election to vote in (although two seperate Poll Officials asked me today if this was my first time to vote...maybe I look young?), and I was sad that I have not gotten to use a booth, curtain, or electronic voting either time! We just got a paper and a pen and had to sit at a table in bubble in our choices, like a standardized test. It was very anti-climactic, in fact I told Zac that I almost wished I had waited until election day so I would have that exciting buzz. Except that we had to wait in a long line today, so I can not imagine how it will be on Tuesday! I was excited to get an "I Voted Today" sticker, but annoyed when I got to cheerleading that afternoon wearing it. Alot of girls asked who I voted for (I did not tell them), and several had really harsh remarks. Here are a few things I heard in the hour span I was with them:
-I hope you voted "NO-bama."
-If you voted for Obama, I'm gonna kill you. Like, really...murder you!
-Hey, did y'all know that Obama is a terrorist AND he hates white people!
Needless to say, it got really old, and I was not about to go there, so instead we just started stretching, but I really wanted to scream "yall are brainwashed! Do any of you watch CNN or read factual information, or do you just trust your parents and bogus emails?" Anyways, it was kind of bothersome, but I didn't let it bring me down! I just hope that next Tuesday I am not dissappointed! :) Oh, and if you have not voted yet, I reccomend you watch this video: (that happens to have like 5 ba-jillion celebs in it, though Borat might be my fave in this clip!)
Matt, thanks for putting a link to THIS amazing story on your blog!

While they have some of the same themes, such as lying, deceit, tough decisions, etc, Pride and Glory is more about corrupt cops, and family, while Body of Lies is more about international affairs, and war games.
Have you seen either or both of them? What did you think? I am really searching for someone who has seen both, so I can prove to Zac that Pride and Glory is better...better script, better acting, better filmography, better everything! :)
Other movies I want to see... Max Payne because I love Mark Walhberg, The Secret Life of Bees with Dakota Fanning, Changling with Angelina Jolie, The Express looks kinda like Remember the Titans, and I loved that movie, and last but not least, some of my cheerleaders told me I must see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.

August 17, 2008
I know I usually try to be in a good mood when I blog, but today, that is impossible. Today, I am not writing for y'all. I am writing for myself...hoping for some therapy. If you would rather not hear bad news, I understand, but I'm just warning you, I don't know how you could read this and NOT be effected. So if you don't want to, do not read the following:
Last night, Ramsi asked me if I got the email about the boy from MHS that is dying of cancer. I told her no and (sadly) didn't think much of it, and then I heard her say his name. Michael Ybarra. A name I have said many time when I was calling roll for the class I subbed more than any class last year. I have talked to this kid (really talked, deep talks) more times than I can count or remember. This kid made a huge impression on me. At one point, I even started writing an article about him for the school paper and District Newsletter. Boy, am I mad at myself for not finishing up on that one.
This kid had a hard life from day one. His biological parents gave him up and he bounced around from one foster home to the next. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and had to have multiple surgeries. Click HERE to see the news story.
10/23/08 This morning I got this email from Zac: I'm sorry to have to be the one to forward this to you, but I knew you wanted to know. I love you.....
"Michael Ybarra passed away last night at 10:40 pm. He woke up out of a coma to hug us and tell us he loved us. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers. I will relay funeral arrangements when I speak to his foster mom today. "
I'm just devastated. Words can't describe it.
I want to close with a few of my favorite Michael moments...
- The day he came to school with pictures of him and Tony Romo and Jerry Jones! He got to meet them for the Make-A-Wish foundation, and he had pics of him wearing Jerry Jones' super bowl ring, and a picture of Tony Romo hugging him. It was priceless. He was thrilled, and the other kids at school could not hear enough about it...they thought it was cool too!
- Michael used to get lost alot (due to the brain tumor), and sometimes he would forget how to read. This was usually humiliating for him (duh!), but he always had a smile on his face when he would ask for help. He had the BEST attitude and outlook on life. If the world was filled with people how have Michael's spirit, I imagine it would be a much better place!
- One day some kids were picking on Chris (another of my favorites...the one with Asperger's) and Michael told this big senior "If you're in the mood to be a bully, pick on me! Leave Chris alone!" Michael and Chris both have social problems that the other couldn't understand, yet they stood up for each other. The day that Michael stood up for Chris, I remember I got a little lump in my throat and thought that was the sweetest thing. I was so proud of him!
I am sad he is gone, yet I am comforted, because I know he is in a better place now, with no pain or sickness. I do not mourn his death, as I know he is better off now, but I have angera nd sadness that any child would have experience life with so many trials and tribulations. I know "life's not fair" but why does it have to be SO unfair for some!?!

Voting has closed on my Presidential Election Poll. In case you were wandering, here is the breakdown: Obama won with 10 votes (66%), and McCain had 4 votes (26%). One person (6%), did not like either candidate. Very interesting! I wonder if my little mock-election will be similar to the real one? I read that "globally speaking," for every ONE person that likes McCain , there are FOUR that like Obama! Kinda crazy huh? That is a BIG difference!
PS-Can November 4th please get here soon, so I can quit being worried/obsessed/consumed by this election stuff? Oh yeah, and one more thing...
Here are two Rihanna songs I love, being covered by non-pop artists...Taylor Swift singing Rihanna's "Take A Bow,"
...and Mandy Moore covering Rihanna's "Umbrella."
I know sometimes a song is better left along, but usually I love hearing different interpretations of a song I love. Music makes me so happy. Life would really SUCK without some good tunes!
Ever wandered what the opposite of the movie BIG would be like? Did you like 13 Going on 30? Then you might want to see the movie "17 Again!" I can not wait to see it! Doesn't hurt that is has cutie Zac Efron, either! :)I think that both adults and teens would enjoy this movie! Anyone wanna go with me?

Then today, on CNN, I saw this video:
When searching for the commercial on YouTube, I also came across this one, that I thought was worth posting...
Two different times last week, I sat at a flashing red light, waiting for it to turn green. After sitting, and sitting, and sitting, with no one around, I thought "this is rediculous!" and then in perfect timing, my brain started working again and I realized I was the one who was an idiot!
Sometimes when I am really tired (or distracted because I read all the time now, every chance I get...I cant put these darn Twilight books down), when I get ready to brush my teeth at night, I open the cap to the toothpaste, turn on the water, and then hold the tube of Colgate under the running water, instead of my toothbrush. Brilliant, right? This has happened more that once!
The worst is when I want a glass of juice. I open the fridge and get it out, open the cabinet and get out a glass, and pour the juice. Then I put the lid back on the juice, and put it away...securely in the glass cabinet.
And people think that blondes are dumb...I think I'm more "checked out" when I'm brunette!

Bella would be Ellen Page (girl-next-door pretty, but not stunning), or Mandy Moore, who can play the helpless, clumsy teenager quite well.
Okay, those are the only characters that I really cared about that much. :) But I think that Charlie could be played by Mike Delfino, from Desperate Housewives, can you see that?
Zac and I got dressed in different rooms and walked into the living room at the same time and laughed. Apparently, it was a black shirt and jeans kind of night.
Just three ex-Sailors having a good time! ;)
Weird angle, but I still like it for some reason.
Girl shot! It was a Julia Sandwich! :)
My new friends were amazing dancers!
WHY do I keep running into Brides in places they should obviously not be on their wedding night!? (bars, casinos, etc)
My new blogging buddy Rachel, as is "Zack and Rach"
Chad with the matching married couple. Haha, you know Zac is having fun when he starts pointing in the pictures!
Laura and I matched too!
My BEST FRIEND!!!!! :) I Love you Stacy!

Isn't she a hoot? Gosh I love her! If any of you win the lottery, will you send me to California to see a live taping of Ellen!? I wish for that to happen every day! She is amazing!
Let me first say that I know that not all Palin/McCain supporters are like this! I have several friends who are Republicans, and we are all entitled to our own beliefs, that is fine. What is not fine, is hatred and ignorance! Have these people been brainwashed? Where do they get thier "facts"? It shocks me, that in 2008, there are still people who see race as such a problem. As a white, Christian, American person, I am embarressed and ashamed by these people. I know we all have different views on "hot topics" (such as gay marriage, abortion, etc...) but there is this thing called TOLERENCE! It might not be what you believe, or what you think is best, but be tolerable of others! We CAN all get along, if people would stop HATING!
And because I never want to end a post on an upsetting note, here is a video that I LOVE. It isn't new, but it inspires me and gives me hope, not to mention that I think it was very well done. I would like to challenge you to actually listen to the words that are spoken and sung. It gives me goosebumps...in a GOOD way! :)
And for the real Obama fans out there (ahem, Stacy) watch THIS video. It gets me pumped up, and its interesting to see which celebs are supporting and promoting him. It is another song, very pretty! When I started this post, I felt very icky and upset...now I feel better! :)
Okay, back to the real stuff...Seriously, I have friends who have already read the entire series (ahem, Ramsi) and my sister has read the first two so far. I gave my mom the first book, last weekend, with instructions to read it asap. People (Zac) may say that the books are designed for teenagers, but people said the same things about Harry Potter. (Not that I read any of the Harry Potter books, but) I know plenty of adults who enjoyed them, so who cares if the book is marketed to someone else, if you love it, right?
My goal is to finish the next two books by November 21st, which is when the movie comes out. The movie is just over the first book, so if I do not finish them, I will still be okay, but considering how obsessed I become about reading them, I do not think it will be a problem at all! I have stayed up til like 2am the past few nights just reading away. I literally (and I say that word with a British accent, like my cousin Matt...lit-trull-lee) can not put it down...it's amazing! I highly reccomend you read at least the first one, but then I know you will get hooked (like everyone else who reads them!) and read the next ones too! I cant wait to talk about this with y'all. Please comment me if you have read any of them! I talk to Zac about Bella and Edward and he gets annoyed, but they are a part of me now, haha! Oh my gosh, I have not felt this obsessed about something since a few years ago when I was super gung-ho Ashlee Simpson! like, the year I went to four of her concerts in a 12 month span. That is the kind of obsession we are dealing with here! (I know, I know...I'm 25 going on 13, right?)
For the record...I dont think the movie looks anywhere as good as the book, which I will explore more in depth after I see the movie, but it still looks good. And I am a die-hard fan, so how could I NOT see it? ha! This widget can show you movie trailers (click on Videos), photos, and more...check it out:

Sidenote: This year for Christmas with Zac's family, we are drawing names and giving a gift to one person instead of giving gifts to each of the 8 people in our family. Since we are saving money in that sense, we are each picking a favorite charity and donating to each other's charity of choice. It was my brother-in-law Eli's idea, and I am so proud of him and our family. I know which charity I am selecting, but I will be anxious to see what other charities our family ends up donating to. There are so many good organizations and wonderful causes out there...its so hard to pick just one!

Boy don't try to front, I-I know just, just what you are-re-re.
Boy don't try to front, I-I know just, just what you are-re-re.
You say I'm crazy? I got your crazy!
You're nothing but a womanizer!
PS-Do you think I'm gonna watch this?
The 90-minute documentary, tentatively titled "For the Record," is set to air November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
And since we are on the topic of fun new pop music, check out these new songs/videos. The first one is called "Single Ladies" by Beyonce...
This new song "Keeps Getting Better" is off of Christina Aguilera's new CD of greatest hits...
I am also loving THIS song by Lady Gaga, and THIS "I'm a bad@$$" diddy by Pink.

It was hilarious! If you listen closely, you can hear Zac say "GrossMama!" This is what Baw (my German grandmother called her Grandparents (GrossMama and GrossPapa, and I am probably spelling it wrong.) Zac thought this was really funny and told Mom that he was going to instruct our kids to call her GrossMama. It's a funny thought! We had so much fun at dinner and were all in a jovial mood on the way home. Mom had mentioned that Baw taught her a song from back in Baw's college days called Heart of My Heart. When we were stopped at a gas station, I asked them to sing it for us, and Baw laughed so hard for so long. I wish I had captured that on camera. They eventually sang it, which was also really funny to us. (This might not be entertaining to anyone else, especially if you do not know them, but I think its pretty funny, and I have lots of family who reads the blog, so I want them to see it...)
When we got home we played Farkle, which is a dice game. Baw usually speaks very quietly, but when she gets into a game, somehow her voice gets very strong and powerful! haha, Dont mess with her when she is in competition mode! :)
So anyways, as you can tell, I always have lots of fun when I am around my grandmother and mom. Zac makes Baw laugh the most...those two could have their own show if they wanted! We laugh alot, and I am one of those people who often steps out of the situation I am in, and thinks "this is such a special moment." I know its cheesy, but I do, and I do it alot when I am around Baw!

Bez played poker the whole time, Zac played BlackJack, and Ramsi and I walked around, played Wheel of Fortune alot, and Red Hot once. Those are both "penny slots" and I put that in quotations because to win anything it actually does not cost a penny. It is pretty much 80 cents per turn, if you want to be able to win more than just chump change. I did not know that, and planned on only spending $20, but as you can imagine, at almost a dollar a turn, $20 goes pretty darn fast! Ramsi was really good at Wheel of Fortune, and by really good, I mean lucky. It is pushing buttons, so I am not sure if you can be "skilled" at it, but she did well. At one point she was up $200!! I would sit down at the same spot and do the exact same things she had just been doing, and NADA. I was not lucky last night. It was alot of fun, even though Zac and I didn't win anything. There were times that both of us were up, but being the inexperienced gamblers that we are, of course we walked away with less than we came with. Ramsi was the bigger winner of the night, leaving with all the money she brought, plus $30!!
I had two videos and lots of pictures I wanted to share, so I made a little collage...Enjoy the show, haha!
If you can not view the video for some reason, Sorry! I will be posting the pics on my Picasa account soon. :)
Is it bad, that sometimes when it's a quick picture, I can't tell whether it is Tina Fey or Sarah Palin? (Yes, you should not have admitted that Julia!) Haha, that's been happening to me for a few days now, and I have to think about which person it is. Ooops! In my defense, they really do look alot alike though!
Haha, I think she looks like a flying squirrel or something.

So you are like, what the heck is "15-14?" (the title of this post) Well, Zac's freshmen played today and they fought to the very last second, but lost by one point! It was heartbreaking. It was one of those games where everyone in the stands (on both sides) were on their feet and yelling, and the tension was high! Those are fun games, but moreso when you win! We were winning the whole game, and then the other team scored with only 4 minutes left in the game. We spent the entire last four minutes moving the ball, a few yards at a time, but the clock ran out. We tried to kick a 40 yard fieldgoal at the end of the game, but it didn't make it. We lost. It was sad. It was a very intense game, and at one point I thought Zac was going to get a Red Card (haha, I am such a soccer girl...I meant to say a techinical or penalty or whatever they call it in football) for yelling at the Refs. When we were driving for a touchdown at the very end, one of the boys was in the endzone and ALMOST caught it. Well, we all thought he had caught it, and Zac was jumping up and down, and I swear he was literally like 3 feet off the ground. Who said short white boys can't jump? haha.
PS- Check out these very informative and interesting videos about Breast Cancer...http://cms.komen.org/bse/

Take this QUIZ to learn more about Breast Cancer, and Purina Cat Chow will donate a dollar to Komen for the Cure. It's easy, and interesting! You can also do it in honor or memory of someone. I did mine in honor of Mickey Little, my great aunt, who was the first person I knew to have breast cancer. Also, click on this SITE to help donate a free mammogram to someone in need!
If you did not follow my blog this time last year, I wore pink everyday in the month of October, and raised over $500 for the Komen Foundation. The blog I used is still online and can be found at http://pinkoctober.blog.com/ Please feel free to check it out, look around, etc...
