Try Not to be Green...with ENVY!

Happy Earth Day!! :) Please be "green" as in Earth Friendly EVERY day, not just today.

Now let's get to the real reason for the post. Eli, Ryan and I just got tickets to go see Beyonce in Dallas this summer! We got really great tickets too! Ryan joined the fan club just so we could get the best possible tickets!! I can't wait! Here is a sneak peak she gave Ellen...

If you weren't jealous before, aren't you now? Oh my gosh! So exciting!! She is so, like totally amazing! I saw her live once with my cousin Robin, but it was at the Austin Rodeo when we were seniors in high school, and it was with Destiny's Child. I have been loving B a long time. How could you not? She is fabulous!

PS- If you watched the video, you heard that Thierry Mugler designed her clothes for the tour. What a co-inky-dink!! I was just googling him yesterday! Why? Well, one of the ladies I teach with smelled DELICIOUS all day long yesterday and I finally asked her what it was. (I AM A PERFUME JUNKY!!!) She told me it was a perfume by Thierry Mugler. I got super pumped, because I already have one of his perfumes, called Angel. I even bought Zac the male version of it. It is so scrumptious. His fragrance line is cool because they come in these gorgeous glass bottles, and they are refillable!! Well, the one she was wearing, that I want is called Alien. That is a really weird name for a fabulous perfume, but it is the first official item on my birthday wishlist! (hint, hint! haha)

The Circus is My Destiny

Yes! I am FINALLY blogging about the Britney concert! :) It was so so much fun, and a real treat for both the eyes and the ears! I could go on and on talking about all the amazing aspects of it, but instead I will keep it brief. Stacy and I met for dinner at Gloria's and then headed to the show. Our seats were in the third balcony, one row away from the very tip top, but it was still AH-MAY-ZING!!! I loved the Pussycat Dolls SO much too! They sang live and were very high energy! I've always liked them, but I am a huge fan of them now! Check out this song Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny) from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack! The crowd went crazy when they performed it! I am also MADLY in love with this song by PCD...they are seriously talented!
Here is a view from our seats, and this is even zoomed in...

The costumes for both Brit and the dancers were awesome. I could see them better than my camera captured them, so I didn't get many great pics, but here are a few of her amazing outfits. The Circus one...

At one point she slowed things down and sang on this floating umbrella. It was very pretty and made me think she has come a long way since that awful picture of her with an umbrella which was taken just over a year ago. She is wearing a Bollywood type outfit at that point...

And of course for Womanizer she got to play a cop. A sexy cop, I might add.

I took a alot of video at the show, but some of them didn't turn out that great. I liked this one though...look how over-the-top everything is!! It made me feel that it was worth every penny of the ticket price! :)

Also, you won't be surprised that I am admitting to the world my nerdiness by posting the following videos. Yes, I put on my reporter hat again (not literally, just figuratively) and recorded my thoughts before and after the concert, and also interviewed Stacy at the concert. Enjoy (Enjoy at my expense, haha, it's all cool. I'm secure. Or stupid. One of the two)...
(excuse the horrible angle and the gum chewing)

(excuse the huge cough drop stored in the side of my cheek)

(excuse the raspy voice)

And just in case you are wandering what songs she sang, here is the set list...

Welcoming Bo

Throughout the campaigns and elections, I was so curious as to what type of dog the Obama's would get, assuming Barack won the presidency. I was excited yesterday to find out they finally got their dog, a Portugese Water dog, also known as a "portie." He is named Bo, after Michelle's father, who was nicknamed "Diddly." Look how cute this picture is:
Makes them seem like a real family (I mean they are a real family, but I guess I mean it makes them seem like the average American family). I remember when Chelsea got Socks. I didn't even like cats, but I thought it was cool that one lived at the WhiteHouse, and that the president had a pet. I still think that is cool, and I think the girls will love having Bo around. I can't wait to watch him grow, and hear even more stories. For a cool video of the Obama's playing with Bo, and his first introduction to the press, click HERE.

PS-Not sure why the text is underlined and it won't let me un-underline it, so sorry!
Also, at the Annual White House Easter Egg Roll, hosted yesterday, look at what book the family chose to read to the kids. Love it! :)

Introducing Jayma Simpson

I was going to name this post "more random ramblings" but then I decided that if I keep posting once a week about random and various entertainment things, I would quickly get tired of having stupid titles. So, I decided to make a new persona. Does anyone recognize the name Mario Lavandeira? Nope? tWell, that is because he goes by Perez Hilton. He is a celebrity/entertainment blogger. Well, since I have been blogging about the entertainment world so much lately, I decided I needed my own cool blogger name. "Perez Hilton" is obviously a knock-off of one of Mario's favorite celebs Paris Hilton. I don't have just one favorite celebrity, but I guess the person I have been the most obsessed with in my life would be Ashlee Simpson, so I guess (lame as it may be) my celeb blogger name will be Jayma Simpson. (Jayma just sounds sassy, don't you think?) This is not set in stone, and I am open for ideas, so please...feel free to comment! :) In fact, one of the reasons I am doing this is because last time I wrote about random stuff I got LOTS of comments and it made me super happy, so hopefully yall will let the comments flow, haha.

Reporting from the desk of Jayma Simpson...

1. Have you heard Kelly Clarkson's new song "My Life Would Suck Without You?" I don't like the title, but the song is very fun. Her last album was tragic, and this is more on track with the "Since You Been Gone" days, so I am excited! :) I saw her in concert in The Woodlands, and she is absolutely phenomenal. Plus, she is a 'down-to-Earth' Texas girl, and was the first American Idol EVER, so you pretty much have to love her!

2. Speaking of American Idol, it started tonight! I usually do not enjoy at all the first few weeks of Idol. There are really bad singers and sometimes the judges are mean, which is not very fun for me to watch. My kind husband ONLY likes the first few weeks (the bad singers) and quits liking it when it actually gets competitive. I tuned in tonight with excitement about the new season, but for the most part, very low expectations for the first few weeks. Well, I have to say that I loved it. I laughed so hard, my abs got a workout! I also like the new judge, Kara.
3. I missed the Golden Globes. :( If you know me, you know that for me, this is like missing the end of year trip to Six Flags in elementary school. I so look forward to it, I love award shows. I am so sad that I just completely forgot all about it, and Devon, my DVR didn't remember either. (Okay, so I forgot to tell Devon to record it, but still.) Don't worry, I watched the red carpet on E! twice, so I did get to see what everyone wore. Whose dress was y'alls favorite? I LOVED Kate Winslet's and Eva Longoria's! (I usually hate the color red, but I loved Eva's dress so much!) Eva Mendes took a risk, but I liked her too! To see pics (in case you don't have their dresses memorized, haha) click HERE.
4. Oh, The Bachelor. Girls, put away the claws. Are you here to meet a great guy, or did you come to fight with other girls that you will probably never see again (except at the awkward reunion at the end of the season)? I mean, I get so annoyed at some of these girls. And call me old fashioned, but I like watching the guys courting the girl (ahem, the Bachelorette) better than these girls throwing themselves at him. I understand that it is risky to say that, but it's just my opinion. Some of these girls look so pathetic. Also, if it bugs you that he is kissing another girl, um, ya probly shouldn'ta come on the show, honey!
5. Okay, have any of you seen Burn After Reading? I would like to say it might be the worst movie I have ever seen! I was mad when it was over, and felt like I had just wasted two hours of my life. I really want to meet someone who liked it, so if you did, please speak up. Maybe I missed something.
6. I can't wait to see what the beautiful Obama's wear to the Inauguration! I have Devon set to record the whole day...it's like ten hours or something like that. (Yes, I plan on fast forwarding through alot of it.) What an exciting day next tuesday will be in our nation, and how fitting that it falls the day after Martin Luther King, Jr. day!!! :)
7. I have a new obsession, which deserves its own post, but I will just give you a hint... 30 ROCK! Oh my gosh...I LOVE IT!

There's only 2 types of people in the world...

the ones that entertain, and the ones that observe.
Well baby, I'm a put-on-a-show kind of girl.
Don't like the backseat, gotta be first.
I'm a like the ringleader, I call the shots.
I'm like a firecracker, I make it hot.
When I put on a show...
I feel the adrenaline moving through my veins.
Spotlight on me and I'm ready to break.
I'm like a performer, the dancefloor is my stage.
Better be ready, I bet you feel the same.
All eyes on me, in the center of the ring.
When I crack that whip, everybody gonna trip.
Don't stand there watching me,follow me, show me what u can do.
Everybody let go, we can make a dancefloor. Just like a Circus!

Edward?..Bella?..Is that you?

I just heard about it today, but already I can't wait to see Little Ashes. Here are the main reasons why:
1.Robert Pattinson (aka Edward Cullen) is in it! Hello, reason enough!
2. SPAIN!
3. Love story
4. It just looks really good...see for yourself:

AND...later in the same day, I find out our own little Bella has a movie coming up too! It is called Adventureland, and is from the same guy who directed Superbad. It looks pretty good, and it's set in 1987, so that's fun, right? Check out the trailer...

Okay, so I looked on IMDB and it does not have Rainn Wilson listed in the cast, but I could have sworn that was him in the trailer. Doesn't it look like him? Dwight, was that you buddy?

All Eyes On Me, In The Center Of The Ring, Just Like a CIRCUS

Did y'all watch the MTV Special about Britney tonight? Thoughts? I enjoyed it alot, but sheesh, some parts made me sad. I know some people say they won't feel sorry for someone who has that much money and fame, but I disagree. I think she would trade all that money and fame for some peace and privacy. Oh well. I know I am looking forward to her new Cd though! Comes out Tuesday (December 2nd...also her birthday, and she will also be on Good Morning America!), but I will be downloading it at midnight on Monday! :) P.S.-If you missed it and wanted to watch it, click HERE for encores.

Okay, okay, I know that less than half of my readers care about Britney. Haha, too bad, because I do and it's my blog! Just kidding. But I will be posting some pics and hopefully some stories (if I have time) from our crazy travels last week. Friday we went to Oklahoma, Sunday we came home, Monday we went to Austin, Tuesday we had Thanksgiving with Zac's fam in Austin, Wednesday we went to Midland, Saturday we returned to Austin, and then drove to Midlo. Told ya it was crazy! :) But it was fun and well worth it! Y'all have a good week. I have two more stressful weeks ahead of school, and then I get a one month break. Woohoo!!!

Oh, and just for fun, I found this video online and well, just watch...

PS-That guy is my hero. I need to take some lessons from him! haha...

I love Awards!

Tonight the American Music Awards (A-M-A's) were on. You are surely all aware how much I love awards shows, right!? The AMA's are especially fun because there are a thousand (not quite, but almost!) performances! There are way (way!) too many to name, but some of my faves were New Kids On The Block, Ne-Yo, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Kanye West, The Fray, Coldplay, and Natasha Bedingfeld. There were more, but you get the picture...lots of big name performances! Highlights of the show: 1. I was very excited to see The Fray! Zac and I love them! We saw them in concert in Austin, but haha, Andy Roddick was sitting a few rows in front of us, so yeah I only half way paid attention to The Fray, haha! Zac just asked yesterday if they were ever going to put out another CD and I was like "I dont know!?" Well, question answered! :) I like the song too! 2. After Kanye won his second award (I forget what it was for...maybe Rap Artists of the Year or something?) he said that he did not deserve it and that it was Wayne's award. (Lil Wayne) He said that it was Wayne's year and he earned the award, not Kanye. I thought that was cool and mysteriously humble for someone (ahem, Kanye!) who prides themself on being cocky and arrogant! :) Good job Kan-yeezy! 3. I loved loved loved Ashley Tisdale's dress. It was so different and unique, but I think that is why I liked it. Do you like it?
PS-I had to post this tonight so it would not be out of date, but I have SOOOO much to share with yall! Big news, lots of photos and stories and videos from our trip to the Ranch house in Oklahoma, and more! I can't wait!

OK-LA-HO-MA, Oklahoma!

We are about to leave for Oklahoma (after I stop at my daer friend Stacy's wine night first!) to go spend the weekend at Zac's family's ranch. There is no internet or cell phone service there, but there are horses and cows and mountains and beautiful land. It is always so refreshing to go spend a few days "unplugged" and out of touch. I can't wait to post pictures and videos!

Twilight (the movie) was AWESOME last night, and I can not wait to share more about it! I am going to go see it again next week with my mom and sister, and already I can not wait! :) It was so so good. A pleasant surprise! It was different than the book, but good in its own way. I loved it.

Bronx Mowgli...Welcome to the world, little fella! I am sure you will have a very interesting life with Ashlee and Pete as your mom and dad, Jessica as your aunt and Papa Joe as your grandaddy. I can't wait to see what you look like!

V-O-T-E

Please read/sing this to the tune of Nat King Cole's L-O-V-E...

V is for a big fat Vic-tory
Obama, is the Only one I see
T is truly hoping he becomes the president
E is Even more than anything I could ask for...
VOTE it's all I that I can ask, of you.
Vote...it's more than just a thing to do.
America, we need to change it, cast your vote, please don't delay it.
Vote for Obama today!

You guessed it! Zac and I voted today and I was on a high all afternoon. :) This was my second presidentional election to vote in (although two seperate Poll Officials asked me today if this was my first time to vote...maybe I look young?), and I was sad that I have not gotten to use a booth, curtain, or electronic voting either time! We just got a paper and a pen and had to sit at a table in bubble in our choices, like a standardized test. It was very anti-climactic, in fact I told Zac that I almost wished I had waited until election day so I would have that exciting buzz. Except that we had to wait in a long line today, so I can not imagine how it will be on Tuesday! I was excited to get an "I Voted Today" sticker, but annoyed when I got to cheerleading that afternoon wearing it. Alot of girls asked who I voted for (I did not tell them), and several had really harsh remarks. Here are a few things I heard in the hour span I was with them:
-I hope you voted "NO-bama."
-If you voted for Obama, I'm gonna kill you. Like, really...murder you!
-Hey, did y'all know that Obama is a terrorist AND he hates white people!
Needless to say, it got really old, and I was not about to go there, so instead we just started stretching, but I really wanted to scream "yall are brainwashed! Do any of you watch CNN or read factual information, or do you just trust your parents and bogus emails?" Anyways, it was kind of bothersome, but I didn't let it bring me down! I just hope that next Tuesday I am not dissappointed! :) Oh, and if you have not voted yet, I reccomend you watch this video: (that happens to have like 5 ba-jillion celebs in it, though Borat might be my fave in this clip!)

Matt, thanks for putting a link to THIS amazing story on your blog!

Pride and Glory vs. Body of Lies

In the past two weeks, Zac and I have seen two great movies. I liked Pride and Glory most, but Zac liked Body of Lies most. Funny huh? We both love the actors Edward Norton, Collin Farrel, Russell Crowe, and Leonardo DiCaprio, so that helped make both movies even better! :) Pride and Glory is more of an action, but while Body of Lies has action, it's actually more of a Drama. I have attached the two trailers, so you can see for yourself what they are about...
While they have some of the same themes, such as lying, deceit, tough decisions, etc, Pride and Glory is more about corrupt cops, and family, while Body of Lies is more about international affairs, and war games.

Have you seen either or both of them? What did you think? I am really searching for someone who has seen both, so I can prove to Zac that Pride and Glory is better...better script, better acting, better filmography, better everything! :)

Other movies I want to see... Max Payne because I love Mark Walhberg, The Secret Life of Bees with Dakota Fanning, Changling with Angelina Jolie, The Express looks kinda like Remember the Titans, and I loved that movie, and last but not least, some of my cheerleaders told me I must see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.

"Polls are just a fancy way of systematically predicting what's gonna happen..."

-quote by the Tina Fey version of Sarah Palin, on Saturday Night Live.

Voting has closed on my Presidential Election Poll. In case you were wandering, here is the breakdown: Obama won with 10 votes (66%), and McCain had 4 votes (26%). One person (6%), did not like either candidate. Very interesting! I wonder if my little mock-election will be similar to the real one? I read that "globally speaking," for every ONE person that likes McCain , there are FOUR that like Obama! Kinda crazy huh? That is a BIG difference!

PS-Can November 4th please get here soon, so I can quit being worried/obsessed/consumed by this election stuff? Oh yeah, and one more thing...

Rihanna's Covered...

According to the internet, the most covered song of all time is The Beatle's Yesterday. I LOVE covers! If you love a song, isn't it cool when you get to hear someone else's perspcitve on that song? I think so! There are a series of CD's Zac and I enjoy called Punk Goes ____ (Pop, Acoustic, Crunk, 90's...they are all fun! Click on the name if you're interested and it will take you to a site where you can scroll down and listen to each song. They're songs you recognize, just redone with a "punk/pop" flair.) You MUST check out Further Seems Forever's version of Bye Bye Bye (originally sung by N*SYNC). Excuse the wierd intro and fuzziness, THIS is the only version I could find online.
Here are two Rihanna songs I love, being covered by non-pop artists...Taylor Swift singing Rihanna's "Take A Bow,"

...and Mandy Moore covering Rihanna's "Umbrella."

I know sometimes a song is better left along, but usually I love hearing different interpretations of a song I love. Music makes me so happy. Life would really SUCK without some good tunes!

Twilight Delight!

WARNING: If you have not read Twilight and have no interest in it, you might want to skip this post...it is strictly devoted to the Twilight Saga, and it's characters! :) However, you might just see how gorgeous and interesting the characters are and become interested! :) haha!

Last night, out with several friends, I saw a man and got so excited! I screamed "Look! It's Jacob Black!" but Zac looked at me like I was crazy, so one by one I kept turning people in our group around to see if that meant anything to them. I finally figured out that not one person in our group of like 10 people had read Twilight, so of course they did not know why I was so excited! When I explained to Zac that the man looks JUST LIKE a character from my book, he replied "how do you know...you've never seen a picture of him!" I had to explain that Stephenie Meyer is the most descriptive author I have ever read, and I have seen a picture of Jacob...in my mind!! Zac told me I was a dork, but I handed him my camera and then politely tapped "Jacob" on the shoulder and asked if he would take a picture with me. This made his face light up, and made me want to hug him. I never explained my reasoning, I just posed for the picture and then graciously thanked him. He kept looking at me the rest of the night, probably wondering what that was all about. Anyways, that really got me thinking about how I envision all the characters. I already mentioned that I did not like the Twilight movie poster because I don't think that the actor who plays Edward is handsome enough (to match what the author describes in the book), and I think that the actress portraying Bella does not look "common" enough or vulnerable enough...just not how I imagined her. So, having an afternoon with not much to do, I decided to use good ole Google Images to put together my "dream cast" for Twilight. This is how I envision it...
Bella would be Ellen Page (girl-next-door pretty, but not stunning), or Mandy Moore, who can play the helpless, clumsy teenager quite well.

Esme would be Rachel McAdams...beautiful, classy, young but mature looking.
Alice has to be Allison Lohman (as a brunette). I love Alison Lohman...and she is spunky and small, just like Alice!
Edward would be played by Orlando Bloom. Pale skin, dark hair and eyes, and distinctively beautiful features!
Emmett, the big, buff, handsome brother would be none other than Tom Brady! :)

Carlisle...the dad of the group, and a gorgeous doctor...how could you NOT pick Patrick Dempsey, a.k.a. McDreamy?!?

Okay, those are the only characters that I really cared about that much. :) But I think that Charlie could be played by Mike Delfino, from Desperate Housewives, can you see that?
Update: I have finished the third book, Eclipse, and I am just starting the last and final book, Breaking Dawn. This makes me a little bit sad, because what in the world am I going to do when I finish this one? Oh...I know! I will blog all about it...I have so much to say when I am finished with the entire Saga! :)

Dennis Quaid is here!

Tonight, after Zac went to bed I was catching up on my Ellen. Since I had class last night until late, I had to watch yesterday's episode tonight. Dennis Quaid was on the show and had a lovely interview. I truly believe that Ellen brings out the best in people...I know I become a fan of a lot of the people she has on her show! Anyways, after their interview, she sent him to the Starbucks on the Warner Bros. lot and made him do a little prank. I think it was so funny because he is such a humble and modest seeming person, so for him to do this was a riot! I laughed so hard that I woke Zac up! I had tears streaming down the sides of my face. Molly woke up and started looking around. I hope I am not saying so much that you won't think it's funny. Just watch...

Isn't she a hoot? Gosh I love her! If any of you win the lottery, will you send me to California to see a live taping of Ellen!? I wish for that to happen every day! She is amazing!

Womanizer, Womanizer, Womanizer, Womanizer...

It's not quite Toxic (Britney's best video EVER, in my opinion) but Womanizer is a good one! It reminds me of Toxic, since she portrays several different personalities. Ch-check it out...

Boy don't try to front, I-I know just, just what you are-re-re.
Boy don't try to front, I-I know just, just what you are-re-re.
You say I'm crazy? I got your crazy!
You're nothing but a womanizer!

PS-Do you think I'm gonna watch this?

The 90-minute documentary, tentatively titled "For the Record," is set to air November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV.

And since we are on the topic of fun new pop music, check out these new songs/videos. The first one is called "Single Ladies" by Beyonce...

This new song "Keeps Getting Better" is off of Christina Aguilera's new CD of greatest hits...

I am also loving THIS song by Lady Gaga, and THIS "I'm a bad@$$" diddy by Pink.

Political Opinions...

We all have our opinions and we are all unique in our views and ideas. We all disagree on things at some point, and I think that is one reason I am ready for the campaign to be over. In the meantime, I'll try to stay in the loop, as a good citizen should. I will say though, that I am tired of the gossip and name calling. Let's pick our leaders based on their plans for our nation, not whether they are supposedly Muslim, or smoked pot in college, or if they have a child who had premarital sex! I JUST WANT TO KNOW how they plan on getting us out of some of the situations we are in now, and what actions they will put in place to do so. Here is one video I came across, of a celebrity voicing their opinion. Makes you think...
