Grammy predictions...

Y'all know I love to watch award shows, and how much I love music, so imagine how AWESOME the Grammys are to me! I posted my predictions last year too, which can be seen here.

To view the complete list of this years Grammy nominees, click here

Record of the year...Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys
Album of the year...Fame Monster by Lady Gaga
Song of the year...Need You Now by Lady Antebellum OR Love The Way You Lie by Rihanna and Eminem
Best new artist...Drake deserves this, but I wouldn't be disappointed if Mumford & Sons won, and wouldn't be surprised if Justin Bieber (or Beaver, as my students say) won.
Best Female Vocal Pop...this is SO hard for me because I love every woman and song nominated. I guess if I MUST pick one, it would be Bad Romance by Gaga.
Best Male Pop...Haven't Met You Yet by Michael Buble, OR Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. Although my fave of these songs is Whataya Want From Me by Adam Lambert
Best Pop by Duo/Group...Hey Soul Sister by Train or The Only Exception by Paramore
Best Pop Collabo...California Gurls by Katy Perry and Snoop?

Okay, those are the categories I care about the most. Who are you rooting for? Who do you think will win? Which performances are you looking forward to! Leave comments!!!

Grammy Picks

Y'all! It's the Grammy tonight! HOLLA!!!!!!!!! I love music and award shows, so hip hip hooray for my evening! I am getting so excited that I feel like I need to go put on a party dress! I can't wait to watch the performances, and I love getting all giddy and my chest gets shaky when people go up to accept awards. If they cry (and I like them) it's a safe bet I'll cry. My entire childhood I wanted to be a pop star, and on nights like this, I get to live my life through them. Haha, so cheesy, but I used to always wonder what I'd wear and say if ever I was to go to the Grammys! Silly, I know, but that's me.
For the complete list of Grammy Nominees, click here. My picks are listed below, but I'm not really sure if this is who I WANT to win, or who I think WILL win. Oh well, here they are, but only the categories I care about, hehe...

I have (and hate) H1N1.

I have Type A flu. It's miserable. I wanted more "ME" time, but this is not exactly what I was thinking. It's day two of being home (instead of at school) and I don't even feel well enough to read or get the smallest tasks completed. I can pretty much just lay here. It's miserable. My entire body aches...it's pathetic. In fact, I am about to go back to bed. But if you didn't know anyone with the Swine Flu yet, now you do!!!

On a good note, I can't wait for this...

Miscellaneous

I am so tired and about to head off to bed, but here are a few thoughts before I do:
-A year ago TODAY, Ellen and Breagan passed court in Ethiopia and became the official parents of Nati!! Wow! What an amazing and life changing day for everyone involved! Congrats Ellen and family! :) Happy one year anniversary.
-Regional track meet was the past two days. I am tired and sunburned, but we have two kids going to state, in three different events, so that is great!
-Ramsi and Bez watched Molly for us, since we were out of town and they had so much fun together! :) I missed Molly like crazy but I got lots of updates and picture mail and I knew she was having a blast at Aunt Ramsi's house! I think Ramsi and Bez enjoyed the extra entertainment too!
-Dancing With The Stars!!! Love it! So sad that it is about to be over, but I am thrilled that my three faves are in the finals! I hope either Shawn or Melissa win.
-American Idol! Kris and Adam are in the finals! I liked Danny too, but I am completely happy with this match! I hope Adam wins, but I think Kris and Adam will both get a gig out of it anyways, so either way!
-I cry when they show the contestants going home and seeing all their fans for the first time! That must be so surreal!

JT is brilliant!

Justin Timberlake was on Saturday Night Live this past weekend and he was hilarious! He really is the total package...singer, actor, great looks, and comedian! I might have gotten a little carried away with embedding videos, but I just thought they were all so funny. Enjoy!

Also, this one is a little bit inappropriate, but none-the-less extremely hilarious. (At least I thought it was funny!)

Please just let me tell you...

a few random things that are on my mind. When I say random, I mean it. Here we go...
1. I am finished for the semester. My last class was tonight, and I finished my internship at the elementary school last week, so I am free! :) As far as I know, I made 5 A's too, so that's nice!
2. Ramsi and Bez went with Zac and I to Freebirds tonight to celebrate me being finished. I love Freebirds food, but I also love that it reminds me of Austin!
3. Speaking of Austin, I am leaving Wednesday to go there! I am going to see Lady Gaga at the Second Chance Prom with Eli...I can't wait! I heard her third single "Love Game" on the radio today and I got so giddy! I can't believe I get to see her in two days, AND go with some of my favorite people!!
4. Thursday I have a dentist appointment, and then I am headed to Houston to hang out with Madeline, my Mom, Baw, Liz and Andy. Madeline's birthday party is Saturday, so Zac is flying into Houston on Friday night. Can you believe little Madeline is already turning three!? Wow!
5. I love Dancing With The Stars. I can't believe this is my first season to watch, but I am hooked! I really love it! I really love Melissa and Shawn the best. I would be happy if either of them won!
6. I don't know much about this Disney girl, Demi Lovato, but I am obsessed with her new song "Don't Forget" and it is making me become a fan of hers! I think you would like this song, if you gave it a chance. It is really pretty and catchy...

Oh, and for all you McCallum Knights out there...I have a fun post coming up that you might appreciate. (If anyone appreciates it, it will be you! he he)

Here Comes Goodbye

So I told y'all earlier that this is my first season following Dancing With The Stars, but I am totally hooked, 100%. Tonight was a results show, which means they have guest performers. Tonight Rascal Flatts sang, and Julianne and Tony danced to the song. It was seriously the most impressive dance I have ever seen, and I have been exposed to ALOT of dance in my life! Granted, it was two professionals (as compared to one professional and one "celebrity" like it is on Monday night), but still...it was so awesome. Even if you don't watch the show, or know who the people are, and even if you don't like Rascal Flatts (I'm not their biggest fan, trust me) just watch the video. The tricks are amazing, and there is so much emotion in their choreography. Sigh...I will get off my soapbox now, but I wish I could move like that!

PS-It's not fair that Julianne Hough can dance like that AND have a an amazing singing voice! She won best Top New Artist and Top New Female Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards! Maybe you recognize this song? I really like this one. I wish I had just ONE of those skills! :)

The Office

Happy Friday! For those of you who get one, Happy Spring Break! Here is some Friday cheer for everyone, on this Friday the 13th!!! :)
PS- I hope you like The Office, or you might not appreciate the cheer I am spreading, haha!

Drip Drop

Tuesday I got to school and received several compliments about my hair from the ladies in the office. I thought the kids would think it was cool Icut my hair too, but when I got to the classroom, they all just kind of looked at me funny. One little boy finally said "Mrs. Oldham, you were way much better with long hair." Haha, I just laughed, it did not bother me in the least. Then several of the other boys chimed in "yeah, it was best long" but thank goodness for sweet little girls..."you look pretty ALL the time Mrs. Oldham" (or some variation of that name, depending on who was the one speaking).

Kelly Clarkson's new CD is AWESOME! It is like her Breakaway album...very fun and catchy. Even the slower songs are amazing! I love when an artist I like releases a new CD, because you get to see them everywhere! (Ellen, Jay Leno, David Letterman, etc) Well, Kelly was on American Idol last night and she was great. I will say she has gained weight, but who cares? She is a great singer, and I have heard she is pretty down to earth. She has a house in Mansfield, which is like 20 minutes from us, so lots of people around here know her.

Speaking of American Idol...YES! I like the top 11 remaining contestants. I still have not decided who is my absolute favorite, but I like Alexis and Megan alot. I like girls with a little punk edge to them...haha, maybe it's because I always wanted to have one, but was too scared to not be mainstream? Shame on me! I also love Lil Rounds because she reminds me of Mary J. Blige. My two favorite guys are Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert, but part of me wants Anoop to go far too. As you can see...I like ALOT of them! :) I'm going to pick one video a week to post though, and it's hard to decide which, but this week my favorite performance award goes out to ALEXIS GRACE! (even though I have never heard the song "Dirty Diana")

I already devoted an entire post to Dancing With The Stars, but I will just say again...I'm a fan! Go Melissa!

Eli sent me a link to this amazing video. It is a fun little pop song, but the video is a treat for the eyes. :) Definitely worth watching!!! "I wanna see you drip drop, drip drop, drip drop!" Also, some of the dance mixes to it are really fun too...makes me wanna go dancing with Eli! :)

Post about my last day of Kindergarten coming soon! :)

DWTS

I have never watched the show "Dancing With The Stars" before, but I love this season's cast of stars! After one night...I am hooked! :) The hard part is that there are so many people I like, I don't know who to root for, so for now I am rooting for several of them...Shawn Johnson, Holly Madison, Ty Murray, Steve-O (who is sober now) and probably my favorite (if I was forced to pick one) would be MELISSA from The Bachelor! I love her, and y'all...she can dance! Good job ABC for putting her on the show! :)

Super Bowl Commercials

I forgot to ask what y'all thought of the Super Bowl commercials!? Which were your faves? I liked a few of them, like the Doritos one, and a Pedigree one, but for the most part I was not too impressed. But then again, I don't blame these companies for not wanting to spend 3 million for air time in this economy. But remember when they used to be really big productions? I never liked Pepsi (Coca-Cola all the way baby! or Dr. Pepper!) but the following ads always made me want to switch to Pepsi because they were so memorable and fun...

Did y'all like any certain commercials from this SuperBowl? What about in the past? Any that stand out in your mind? (Who could forget the Budweiser frogs, haha!)

UPDATE!!! I can not believe when I made this post that I forgot that I did have a commercial I loved!! Funny enough, it was actually a Pepsi commercial. I just saw it (while watching the Grammy's) and remembered that it was my fave. Enjoy!

Adorable Anne

I just (literally right now) decided that my new favorite actress is Anne Hathaway. I have always thought she was sophisticated and stylish and classy. I started liking her alot after her interview with David Letterman because she seemed so down-to-earth, with a great sense of humor. Well, she was on Ellen (my favorite show) yesterday, and I just fell all the way in love with her. She went through alot last year (surely you heard about this), but she is so graceful and poised.
To see her interview on Ellen, click HERE, and for the second part, all about the movie Bride Wars, and also some funny dance movesclick HERE. (If you are only going to watch only one of them though, watch the first one!) Isn't she so delightful? Oh, and I will definitely go see Bride Wars.

I love Awards!

Tonight the American Music Awards (A-M-A's) were on. You are surely all aware how much I love awards shows, right!? The AMA's are especially fun because there are a thousand (not quite, but almost!) performances! There are way (way!) too many to name, but some of my faves were New Kids On The Block, Ne-Yo, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Kanye West, The Fray, Coldplay, and Natasha Bedingfeld. There were more, but you get the picture...lots of big name performances! Highlights of the show: 1. I was very excited to see The Fray! Zac and I love them! We saw them in concert in Austin, but haha, Andy Roddick was sitting a few rows in front of us, so yeah I only half way paid attention to The Fray, haha! Zac just asked yesterday if they were ever going to put out another CD and I was like "I dont know!?" Well, question answered! :) I like the song too! 2. After Kanye won his second award (I forget what it was for...maybe Rap Artists of the Year or something?) he said that he did not deserve it and that it was Wayne's award. (Lil Wayne) He said that it was Wayne's year and he earned the award, not Kanye. I thought that was cool and mysteriously humble for someone (ahem, Kanye!) who prides themself on being cocky and arrogant! :) Good job Kan-yeezy! 3. I loved loved loved Ashley Tisdale's dress. It was so different and unique, but I think that is why I liked it. Do you like it?
PS-I had to post this tonight so it would not be out of date, but I have SOOOO much to share with yall! Big news, lots of photos and stories and videos from our trip to the Ranch house in Oklahoma, and more! I can't wait!

QVC Maverick

I gotta give it to John McCain...he was very funny on Saturday Night Live last weekend. Of course, I think it helped that he had Tina "Sexy Sarah" Fey by his side! :) Here is the clip:

Dennis Quaid is here!

Tonight, after Zac went to bed I was catching up on my Ellen. Since I had class last night until late, I had to watch yesterday's episode tonight. Dennis Quaid was on the show and had a lovely interview. I truly believe that Ellen brings out the best in people...I know I become a fan of a lot of the people she has on her show! Anyways, after their interview, she sent him to the Starbucks on the Warner Bros. lot and made him do a little prank. I think it was so funny because he is such a humble and modest seeming person, so for him to do this was a riot! I laughed so hard that I woke Zac up! I had tears streaming down the sides of my face. Molly woke up and started looking around. I hope I am not saying so much that you won't think it's funny. Just watch...

Isn't she a hoot? Gosh I love her! If any of you win the lottery, will you send me to California to see a live taping of Ellen!? I wish for that to happen every day! She is amazing!

Good evening my fellow Americans...

Tina Fey nailed Palin's accent on Saturday Night Live last night! Sooo hilarious! I remember watching SNL as a kid and seeing Darrell Hammond impersonate Bill Clinton, and then later a plethora of comedians played G-Dub. I guess with the elections, we enter the new generation of comedians mocking presidents/vice presidents/almost presidents. :) Too funny!

It is completely possible...

that the same piece of information could be both the best and worst news I received for the day. In this case, it happened when I went to my trusty DVR and saw that THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW is back on!!! It's obvious that this is awesome news. If you know me, you know that I tivo and watch her show EVERY single day! If I am out of town, I catch up when I get home. I can not stand to miss her. Alot of days, watching her show really is the best part of my day! She makes me so happy, and she is the most beautiful person. She has this very sensitive, caring, vulnerable spirit, and I think the world of her! How, you ask, could her new season starting be bad news? Well, I already stay up too late (It is 11:55pm right now) doing homework and cheer stuff and blogging. I feel like I am already trying to do three days worth of stuff every single day, so it's probably not a good thing that now I have an extra hour that I can't give up! I usually watch it at night, after Zac has already gone to bed (he doesnt care to watch it, unless he likes whoever the guest is) while I am winding down. I need to practice self-control and discipline and if its too late, I just need to catch up on the weekends. Sigh...does that make me a loser that I have to schedule time to watch TV? I just know that if I could only have one show, it would be Ellen's. I love her. I cant say that enough or explain it as well as I want to, but just know that I do.

Ellen...congrats on your summer nuptials! I am so happy for you and Portia. May your life together be blessed and merry!

Y'all check out THIS video of Michelle Obama on her show today. It was priceless. I love her and I want her to be our first lady, as badly as I want Barack to be our Prez! (After the first video, watch THIS...it's the second part. It also has a side by side comparison of Michelle and Barack dancing on the Ellen Show.)

Happy Monday friends!
