I went to Austin this weekend for the State Track meet. Since Zac is applying for assistant principal jobs, this could realistically be his last event as a coach. He had two kids make it to state, both pole vaulters. Neither did their true best, but the boy did win second. (The part that stinks is that earlier this season he vaulted 15'9" and the kid who won first at state won with a vault of 15 feet!) Anyways, no gold medals, but it was still an awesome experience for MHS track. Zac was very sad not to have his awesome distance runner there though. Last year she won the mile and two mile, but an injury kept her from competing this year. Zac kept saying "it feels so weird to be here without Carly!" One of the other coaches drove the kids back to Midlo, so Zac got to stay in Austin with me and spend time with our families, which I have to say was my favorite part! :) We stayed with my folks and had some quality time with them, and then Sunday we met Baw and Aunt Nancy and my cousin Amy for lunch at Jason's Deli. (YUM!) Saturday afternoon we went to Eli and Ryan's new condo downtown. It is so amazing and has great views of the city. One of the coolest things is that the gym where Eli works is in the same building, so that is super convenient for him! That night we met Zac's family for dinner at Mesa Rosa to celebrate mother's day. After dinner we went to a park and just watched Ellie play (okay, we played a lot too!) until the sun went down. Fun times! Woah...who even knew that merry-go-rounds could go that fast? It was borderline painful...yet so fun too, haha! brothers :) Eliza's fan club! All the Oldham's (plus Andy, Tatem's high school BFF) watching Ellie play... the cutie pie... I love that little girl! She had a fever and was still such a champ all through dinner and the park! Eli and Rye's new condo. Their stuff isn't really moved in yet, but it is sooo nice! When we went to Jason's Deli to eat lunch, we saw Matt and Tara and three week old baby Magnolia walking in to Sprouts! It was such an awesome run in! Maggie Mae is so tiny and perfect! It was great to see them, even if just for ten minutes! :) PS-I blogged two separate posts back to back on the same day, so make sure you look at both of them...if you want. Just scroll down to hear about our weekend in Katy and Cinco de Mustache:)
I think I've mentioned that I'm doing Zumba. I love it. I'm lifting weights twice a week and doing Zumba (cardio and muscle toning) three times a week. I've been doing it consistently over a month now and I love it. I look forward to it, and love the way I feel afterwords. One of my favorite parts of Zumba is the fun music. We all know I love Spanish and all types of music, so it's so fun to be exposed to new songs and also to dance to songs I already know. Here are a few of my faves... This is our cool down song. If you are only going to listen to one song, click on this one. It's so pretty. Since it's the last song I hear it gets stuck in my head and I drive home singing it and then sing it some more in the shower.
This is a really fun poppy song with a club sound to it.
This is more of a rap sound, and is also my fave song choreographically speaking! :) OMG...when I just searched on YouTube, I found someone doing the actual dance we do. This is the exact way my class does it too. Doesn't it look FUN!? Can you see how an hour of non-stop dancing like this could be a hard-core workout?
This might seem random, but as I head to Austin to watch Zac's kids in the Texas Relays, I'm thinking a lot about being a coach's wife. I have so much I could share on this, but here is just a short post about a few thoughts. As my wise sister pointed out, there aren't many other jobs (besides coaching), where a wife is expected to physically go somewhere and WATCH their husband work, and support him. Coaching is definitely not "just a job" it is most certainly a lifestyle. Even when you are not at work, living in a small town, you constantly have eyes on you, and must be professional at ALL times, not just 40 hours a week. My hubby does a great job of this. The wife part...It is challenging at times (when the pressure is on him, or when his hours get long), but overall it is so rewarding. To hear teenage boys and their parents tell me positive stories about MY husband is the best. Just hearing the way a kid calls him "Coach" with the utmost respect in their voice gets me sometimes. I've said it before, I've blogged it before, but I am so proud of Zac and not the gold medals, but the way he conducts himself and carries himself, day in and day out. He truly is an amazing role model for these kids, and even some of the parents. I am one lucky girl!
If you follow me on Facebook, you probably know by now that Zac's freshmen football team won their last game, making them DISTRICT CHAMPS!!! Zac wants to move on to become a principal, so this was (hopefully) his last football season. He really went out with a bang...they were undefeated in district! He loved the boys and they loved him.It was a very exciting game and moment. I loved seeing the clock tick down and knowing they won, I loved seeing the boys jumping up and down and surrounding him, I loved the speech he gave them after the game, but the part about the night that I will remember the most was the parents. Several parents came up to me and shared with me their thoughts on "Coach." Here are a few of the things I heard... -"My boy doesn't have a dad or male role model, and your husband has been that for him. He looks up to him so much, and I am forever grateful for the positive impression he has made on my son." -"He expects a lot from these boys, and as a parent I appreciate that. They are better off for playing under him." -"Thanks for sharing your husband with our kids. I know he was away from you a lot, but the boys adore him, and come home talking about him every day... Coach O said this, Coach O said that." -"We will never forget this football season. My son has been resenting authority lately, but there's something about your husband, my responds so well to him. He would do anything Coach ever asked him to, and more!" Anyways, there were lots more, but it just made me proud. My heart swelled up that night. Not because they won, but because I am married to a man who changes lives. :) Here are a few pics from the night...
Did you see that? He is SMILING!!! They are holding up #1's...how cute is that? :) Zac and his 4 freshmen assistant coaches...great group! Coach and some of his key players. It's fun to see them interact.
Even though football season is half way over, I feel like it is just beginning. But that is probably just because I was not feeling well, then I had the surgery, so I missed the first three weeks of football season. Last week we played the number three ranked team in the state, and well-I'll let you judge by Zac's face whether you think we won or not. I think sometimes he kind of detests having a wife who is so camera-happy. That's okay. He'll live. :)Yeah, we lost, but it was a fun game anyways. Meredith and I went together, and there are always so many cute coaches kids. This is one of the cutest girls ever, and I think he is one of the cutest boys. I think they should get married. Yeah, they're only two, but just look how precious they are together! So we have already played five games (our record is 1 win and 4 losses), and only have five more to go. It's going by pretty fast. This might be Zac's last year coaching, since he will finish his masters in administration in December. Kinda weird to think that this chapter in our lives is coming to an end. Better enjoy the frito pies while I can! :)

I don't know about where y'all live, but a cold front has come to town here! Yesterday the temp was in the 50's and 60's. I felt like it was freezing. I know that this weather in the spring (after a long cold winter) is reason to break out the summer dresses, but since we are so used to the 100 degree heat, this feels fr-r-r-r-reezin'! Okay, maybe not freezing, but certainly nippy! Especially when the sun sets. Tonight was the first football game of the year that was chilly. There is something exciting about a cold football game (not too cold though, because then it's not exciting, it's miserable!) and a cold Varsity game (with band and cheerleaders and people in the stands and stuff) will be even better. I think I might even get a hot chocolate tomorrow! I'll let y'all know! :) Zac's team did great tonight though and it was very fun to watch. He is so good with the kids, I feel so proud watching him. The way he interacts with them is very heartwarming. He puts a hand on their shoulder to talk to them, or holds both sides of their heads with his hands, which would look strangely romantic, if they didn't have helmets on, haha!! Here is our picture from this year's Football media guide...
You all know that I have a big place in my heart for kids with special needs. I thought this story/video was very neat, and I think you will like it too. (Get a tissue...)
Here is the description of the following YouTube video..."Freshman Matt Ziesel scores a touchdown against Maryville. Below is a little write-up from the Ziesel family for those of you not familiar with Matt: Matt is a special athlete who has Down Syndrome. He loves football and has grown up in an environment surrounded by sports. His father is a coach/ athletic director, and all his siblings play sports. He grew up at athletic events, and has always been a cheerleader. He registered as a freshman at Benton High School -Saint Joseph, MO this year, and told his mother and father he wanted to play football. The team takes good care of looking after Matt, and he is still the cheerleader on the sidelines. He puts his pads and helmet on, stands next to Coach McCamy and waits for his turn to play. Over and over during the course of the game Matt will say, "Coach McCamy, I am ready! I am ready Coach!" On this Monday night coach gave him a chance. The Cardinals were down by a few touchdowns with 15 seconds left. Coach McCamy called a timeout and asked the coach of Maryville High School if they could run their "Matt Play". He agreed and this is where the video begins. Thanks to Coach McCamy and the freshman coach at Maryville, Matt and his family will cherish his moment forever!"
State Track meet was last weekend and it was AWESOME! Zac had two kids competing in it, and they both got GOLD! One of them won the girls 3200m (she ran 2 miles in 10:52) and she also won the 1600m (1 mile in 5:02); the other won boy's pole vaulting by jumping 16 feet! It was such a triumphant day. Zac was even interviewed by the media! It was pretty cool, if I may say so myself! I am so proud of him...he has a really hard work ethic. A lot of coaches don't put much effort into their "second sport" which is assigned to them (football being their first), but if his name is on something, he is gonna make it good. He works hard and it pays off. He takes no credit, and gives all the credit and glory to the kids. I think it's awesome. Alot of coaches try to take ALL the credit for their athlete's success, but not my Zac. It's music to my ears when kids and parents come up to me and say "your husband has really turned this program around!" I have had several comments along those lines, and it just makes me swell with pride that I picked such a great guy! ;) Okay, I feel like I am just going on and on about how amazing he is (um, cuz, he is!) so I will just show you some pics from the weekend...
Zac (the distance coach) with his athlete and the girls track coach.
Right after Zac's pole vaulter won, a little boy asked for his autograph. It was so cute. I felt like his mom, I was so proud! The kid was so in awe of him! Zac being interviewed by a reporter. Haha, everyone knows Zac has a big "personal bubble" (he doesn't much like to be touched!) so this is his kid giving him a hard time and rubbing all over him. See Zac trying to push him away!? Too cute! They developed a neat bond over the past two years. Me and Zac with his State Champion distance runner! She is a sweetie!
I talk about track ALL the time (or so it seems) so why, this one night, writing this post is the song Hollaback Girl stuck in my head? "Few times I been around that track, so it's not just gonna happen like that. Cuz I aint no hollaback girl!" Is it just because it has the word "track?" Who knows...maybe I have been smelling too much formaldehyde in my Biology class.
I'm not sure if the Dallas Cowboys practice bubble collapsing has been a big story everywhere, or just for us, since we are close, but it's very sad and scary. One of the scouting assistants has a broken back and they are suspecting will be permanently paralyzed from this! I sure hope that everyone (high schools and colleges alike!) is re-examining the safety and structure of these and something like this will never happen again! I know the storm was bad in Dallas this weekend, but it didn't seem bad enough to take this thing down! I have seen several storms just as bad if not worse than that one!!
Zac's first track meet was today, and it was awesome! The Midlo guys dominated everything...field events, distance events, speed events...it was amazing! I think it is beacuse they have such an awesome coach!! :) Midlothian Varsity Boys had 311 points, and second place was Red Oak with 140 points. Winning by 30 points at a track meet is alot, so winning by 171 (more than double the second place score!) is HUGE! Congrats Zac, his track staff, and the entire Panther track team! (JV boys won their division too!)
I love track season. The weather was so beautiful today. 70's in the afternoon, and 60's in the evening. I can't wait for the rest of the meets! Bring on the sunscreen, I am ready to be a trackie! (Get it? Instead of a Trek-y, like the Star Trek nerds, except Track!? haha! I'm so witty! haha, nope, it's just late and my sense of humor is lame-oh) I will take that as a cue that I need to go to bed and quit blogging! :)
Another bonus about today was that I got to see my Stacy. Since she teaches at Red Oak, and the meet was at Red Oak, she walked over to the stadium after school. We always have the best talks, even when we talk about nothing. :) I love that girl. Stacy, I am going to miss our random hang-out sessions when I move to Austin. You will have to come visit us, and maybe we will even have a baby by then and you can be Aunt Stacy! :) You can rock our little girl and tell her that her middle name is your middle name, and Mommy gave her that name because she loves you so much! :) haha, Maybe I am getting a little carried away here. Sorry...I'm sentimental! (See...I told you I need to go to bed! haha)
***Shout out to TC for desiging that "Midlo Track" logo for Zac! :) Thanks Teece!
Saturday night was the annual football banquet. In the town we live it, everything is very over the top, so the high school football banquet (as well as the cheer banquet, which is coming up) is semi-formal and very fancy. My favorite part of the banquet was seeing some of my favorite cheerleaders, who were there as dates to football players, all dressed up and looking pretty. Here are the senior cheerleaders that were there, which happen to be some of my favorites from last year and this year. The dress on the far right was my favorite dress of the whole banquet...isn't it gorgeous? The back had a cutout square and two black bows connecting one side to the other. (hard to explain, but beautiful!) I told her she deserved the "best dressed" award! Oh, and you can always click on any picture on my blog to see it enlarged. :)Here are some of my freshmen cheerleaders that were at the banquet. They look so grown up! Zac and I gave blood on Saturday, and neither of us really felt up to going out with some of the other coaches after the banquet. We came home and just pretty much went to bed, but first we took some pics with Molly. She has been a little clingy since we started back to school, and I don't blame her. She went from having us 24/7 to barely seeing us at all. Pobrecita! Molly has never been afraid of being vocal when she wants something. Once at my parents house she sat at the bottom of a bookshelf for thirty minutes crying and whining, with an occasional bark. I thought she was going insane, and then I finally realized that there was a tennis ball resting on top of some books on the top shelf. How she knew it was there was beyond me, but hey, no one can say she's not persistent. Recently if we are cooking, or online, or watching tv, and not paying attention to her, she will sit at our feet and beg and cry for attention. (that makes us sound like bad parents, but I promise she gets plently of love, affection, and attention...she just wants it non-stop!) I was laying in bed the other evening watching Ellen, and she wanted me to play tug-of-war with her. See for yourself how pathetic she sounds, and how annoyed she gets when I imitate her...
Fellow Pop-Tarts! (my friends who love pop/hip-hop/rap/pop culture): 1. How amazing is THIS new song by Flo Rida? It might be a bit PG-13, but it is so fun and catchy, and it's a remake of that awesome old song "watch out here I come...you spin me right round, baby, right round, like a record baby, right round, round, round." 2. Surely y'all have already heard Kelly Clarkson's new song. Well, the video for it has leaked onto the web. Check it out.
This past Saturday, our high school hosted their annual Special Olympics basketball tournament. This was my second one to attend, and it was awesome. The local Special Olympics chapter includes Rockwall, Cedar Hill, Midlothian, Waxahachie, Highland Park, and DeSoto, and it is an amazing organization. There are three different divisions, elementary, middle school, and high school/adult. I think the elementary kids are my favorite, but I loved watching all of them. The kids have so much fun, and the parents at this event are SO amazing. Y'all know I have a weakness for these kids. I love them. I feel like I was meant to work with kids with special needs. In fact, I have worked with alot of the kids that were on the Midlothian teams. I love them so much and it is the most rewarding work I think I have ever done. More than cheerleading (duh, that's easy to do), but more rewarding than mission work, or anything else I've been a part of. These kids just make me so so happy, so of course spending a fun day with them was a blast. There were games all morning, then a little workshop where the high school basketball players did little drills with them and stuff. That was probably the most fun part to watch. It is so cool to see the high school kids getting so into bonding with these kids. They would get so excited when their buddies were successful!
Here is one of my favorite little girls with Blue the Panther. Ramsi and I liked the shirt design this year... The cheerleaders attend and cheer for all the teams. The kids think of them as celebrities...it is so neat for both the kids and the cheerleaders! We served them lunch, and then helped with the award ceremony at the end of the day. :)
Brrr! It is soooooo cold! We had a two hour delay to schools and businesses starting today because of the icy roads. I hate cold weather. My fingers hurt typing on the darn keyboard because my arthritis is acting up so badly! (I know, I'm such an old lady! It's sad!) If the weather would just stay hot or stay cold, then at least we could get used to it, but this changing back and forth all the time just plain sucks. Okay, now that I got my whining out of the way... I had a great weekend! Ramsi's mom invited Zac and I over for soup on Friday night. It was so SO delicious! I am going to try to get the recipe. She calls it tortilla soup, but I think it is more like chicken enchilada soup, because it's creamy and not brothy. (is that even a word? ha!) Anyways, we had so much fun. Ram's family was a delight. She has a brother that is a sophomore and a sister in eighth grade, so it was a blast to see the siblings interact. Sometimes I wish I came from a bigger family. I love my family and my childhood and all that, but when I see big families like Zac's and Ramsi's I think they have something pretty special too. :) I was on my best behavior, so I hope to get invited back. I love family, and even if it's not my own, there is something magical about being with a family sitting around the table and enjoying a home-cooked meal together! Saturday my dad came in town to watch a playoff game that our town was hosting. Zac actually had to "work" the game, but that just meant he had to sit next to the scoreboard guy and announcer and be a spotter. I did not even know this job existed, but I got to watch him in action, and basically he would just tell the announcer what number had the ball and which number tackled him. An extra pair of eyes. My dad and I got to sit in the press box which was fun. It was so nice to be at a game and not have to be keeping up with cheerleaders. Not to mention, the press box at our stadium gives you the VIP treatment. They have food catered in and people are asking if you want a refill of your drinks and stuff. It's fun. The game was not great (one team won really bad, and it was NOT the team we were rooting for) but it was still fun to have some father/daughter time. :) After the game we came home and watched them announce who won the heisman, and that took my dad into a deep dark depression. haha, not really, but he was upset about it. So we had to get out of the house, so we went and got cookies and custard. It was kinda random, but fun. Sunday morning I woke up early and went into Dallas to watch my cousin Robin run the White Rock Half marathon. I was so proud of her...she did amazing, AND she has a stress fracture in her right foot! She finished like a champ though! It is so neat to watch a marathon! If you never have, I highly recommend it! This was my second one to watch and it is so inspiring! I personally think the participants are crazy, but it is so cool to watch them pour their hearts into it, and it's also amazing to watch all the perfect strangers cheering on people they have never seen and will never see again. It is a nice moment for humanity...very cool! :) Sunday night was the athletic department Christmas party. It was at a country club this year and was so fun! They had the Knights of Columbus there and had poker tables and craps and blackjack and stuff. It was so cool. They definitely thought "outside of the box" and I would say it was a huge success! :) It was a low-key but wonderful weekend. I can not wait until next weekend, when I will be with all of my family! Now that I am finished with school (WOOHOO!!) I am enjoying just hanging around the house (it's been too cold to get out and about). My cousin Amy is coming tomorrow night to spend the day with me Thursday, and we are going to do some Christmas shopping. I usually get kinda blue in the winter, but luckily it has not been too bad this year. I think it is because I am so busy, and I have been surrounded by friends and family! I am a very blessed and happy little girl! :)
Obviously I am SUPER late in posting this, since today is Saturday and I started it Monday night. I didn't post it, since I wanted to add more, but I have too much to blog about to catch up for the past week, so I'm just posting it half finished. I think you will forgive me, and I mean, who says you even care? This might be more than you ever wanted to know about it anyways, haha! :)
In 1923, the Longhorns had been unable to win a game at Kyle Field in 18 years. Desperate to break the College Station "jinx," UT students consulted Madam Agusta Hipple, a local fortune teller. She instructed the students to burn red candles the week before the game as a way of "hexing" the Aggies and putting a stop to the jinx. Through the week of Thanksgiving, Austin shops found it difficult to keep red candles in stock. Candles were burned in store windows along the Drag, in the fraternity and sorority houses of west campus, in the lounges of University residence halls, and in the windows of houses of Austin’s neighborhoods. Madam Hipple knew what she was doing. By uniting the football team and its fans with such a visible show of support, how could the Longhorns fail? They didn’t. Texas went to College Station, defeated the no. 2 ranked Aggies 23 - 0, ended the 18-year jinx, and restored their pride.
This little girl was totally me when I was little! I was in a cheerleading outfit, on my dad's shoulders, so excited and in awe, staring at the cheerleaders and dancers! :) Mom and me with our Hex candles. Pops, Zac and Mom before the rallly started. This is a new mural on the drag and mom wanted to take a picture of it, so I volunteered to be a dork and do a lib in front of it. ("lib" is a liberty, a name for this particular stunt, except a guy is supposed to be hold you in the air when you do it. haha, not on flat ground!)
This is the UT Pom squad dancing. I was so pumped when their song came on and it was the Ashlee Simpson/Missy Elliot remix of L.O.V.E! :) For those of you (ahem, Zac) who enjoy stomping, you will be pleased to see that the frat joins them on stage and they do a little step routine. I felt weird because I have not been to a hex rally since I was in high school, and all the college kids were older than me. Tonight, I was older than them, and wondered if it was wierd that in a way, I still look up to the cheerleaders and dancers, even though I am older than them. Then I decided that maybe it wasn't that weird, because there are men in their 30s, 40s, and 50s and older, who look up to college football players. Right?
The cheerleaders were mixed in with the crowd, throwing stunts and whatnot, so I didnt get any pics or vids of them, but this is second best...it's a video I took of the UT Pom doing a dance I used to have memorized. No joke...I knew every move! At basketball games, I would scoot out to the stairs and do the dance from the aisle when they would do it during timeouts. Ahh...memories!
So, the one good thing about posting this late is that I can write that THE HEX WORKED! Hook 'Em Horns, and way to go!!! :) Pooooooor Ag-gies!
Yesterday Zac and I, and our friends Ramsi and Bez went to WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. It is about an hour and a half away from where we live, north of Denton, and just across the border. Ramsi and Bez have been several times, and Zac wanted to do something "different" for his birthday, so we decided to take the trip. They picked us up around five and we ate at a Posados Mexican Restaurant in North Fort Worth, then headed the rest of the way there. Winstar was bigger than I thought it would be. It is really long...like it felt like about a mile from one end to the other. They have different rooms with different themes, as you will see in the pics. I know I risk sounding snobby or something when I say this, but I have never seen so many white trash people. Almost everyone smoked, and I honestly have not ever been in a place that so many morbidly obese people are. I am not exaggerating, these people had to use wheelchairs or cains to get around, and several of them had oxygen tanks. It was so bizarre. Haha, oh and I almost forgot to mention that there was an abundance of FANNY PACKS! Zac and I would smile and hit each other everytime we spotted one, which we eventually had to stop because they were everywhere!!! Bez played poker the whole time, Zac played BlackJack, and Ramsi and I walked around, played Wheel of Fortune alot, and Red Hot once. Those are both "penny slots" and I put that in quotations because to win anything it actually does not cost a penny. It is pretty much 80 cents per turn, if you want to be able to win more than just chump change. I did not know that, and planned on only spending $20, but as you can imagine, at almost a dollar a turn, $20 goes pretty darn fast! Ramsi was really good at Wheel of Fortune, and by really good, I mean lucky. It is pushing buttons, so I am not sure if you can be "skilled" at it, but she did well. At one point she was up $200!! I would sit down at the same spot and do the exact same things she had just been doing, and NADA. I was not lucky last night. It was alot of fun, even though Zac and I didn't win anything. There were times that both of us were up, but being the inexperienced gamblers that we are, of course we walked away with less than we came with. Ramsi was the bigger winner of the night, leaving with all the money she brought, plus $30!! I had two videos and lots of pictures I wanted to share, so I made a little collage...Enjoy the show, haha!
It is 12:30, so I should be in bed cuddling with my husband, but instead I am watching the VP debates on CNN.com and blogging. I avoid discussing too much politics on here, but I will say I am not a fan of Sarah Palin. BUT, I do think she did fairly well tonight. The interviews I have been watching of her and Katie Couric made me think she was going to bomb this debate (because, lets face it, she said some pretty ignorant things over the last week). I think she did pretty well though. I still like Biden better, and I'll go ahead and say it...I want Obama to win. I am scared to think what will happen if he doesn't. I think our nation needs a change and I am ready for the elections to be over. (As long as I get the result I want! haha!) So you are like, what the heck is "15-14?" (the title of this post) Well, Zac's freshmen played today and they fought to the very last second, but lost by one point! It was heartbreaking. It was one of those games where everyone in the stands (on both sides) were on their feet and yelling, and the tension was high! Those are fun games, but moreso when you win! We were winning the whole game, and then the other team scored with only 4 minutes left in the game. We spent the entire last four minutes moving the ball, a few yards at a time, but the clock ran out. We tried to kick a 40 yard fieldgoal at the end of the game, but it didn't make it. We lost. It was sad. It was a very intense game, and at one point I thought Zac was going to get a Red Card (haha, I am such a soccer girl...I meant to say a techinical or penalty or whatever they call it in football) for yelling at the Refs. When we were driving for a touchdown at the very end, one of the boys was in the endzone and ALMOST caught it. Well, we all thought he had caught it, and Zac was jumping up and down, and I swear he was literally like 3 feet off the ground. Who said short white boys can't jump? haha.
PS- Check out these very informative and interesting videos about Breast Cancer...http://cms.komen.org/bse/
Since Scott was going to be at the Austin City Limits Music Festival all weekend, Tatem and Eliza came to visit us for the weekend. Of course, every Friday night in our life includes a high school football game, so Tatem and Ellie joined me for the occasion. Eliza loved watching all the kids in our section playing, and also danced to the band music at half time.
Here is a pic of Zac's fan club in the stands... his number one fan waiting for him after the game...
and the group after the game. We lost, but Zac was so happy to have a sweet little distraction!
I heard Kanye West's Gold Digger this morning, and all day long I have been singing "Get down girl, go head get down..." Anyways, this post is just some miscellaneous pictures from the past week that were too cute to NOT post..
Zac and Colt Fagan. You should have seen Zac's face light up when he saw Colt. He was like "Jules, I had that EXACT shirt when I was a kid! You dont understand, that shirt comes in like 50 colors, but I had that same exact color and shirt!" It was funny. Zac was pumped!
Football Game on Saturday: Ramsi and I on the bus on the way to Waco. Do y'all think that Ram and I look alike? We never thought so, but every single time we are wearing the same clothes (for practice or whatever) someone asks if we are sisters or at least cousins. Haha, I guess its the blonde(ish) hair and blue eyes?? Who knows...
The girls looking cute at the game.
Chaden and I had matching shirts on. (Well sorta, but he's so stinkin' cute, I was just looking for an excuse to get my picture made with him, haha!)
For more of my latest pics, go to my Picasa. (You can click on the slideshow called August and it will take you to the page to view them larger, or you can just look at them in the slideshow.)
This entire summer, the other two cheerleading coaches and myself have been working on our cheerleading locker room. We worked so hard painting, getting furniture and accessories and cleaning. This room was disgusting before we got ahold of it! The girls did not know that they were even getting a locker room, much less that we would make it the CUTEST locker room in the history of America. Haha, at least it is in my opinion...see for yourself!
The jerseys on the lockers were also a gift that we surprised them with. We had some unexpected money from a fundraiser and decided to get each girl a jersey with their name and graduation year on it. They LOVED them. The coaches got one too, so I am sure you will see a pic of me wearing mine sometime over the next 10 weeks. :) Here is a video I took of the girls as they were walking in the room for the first time. It was priceless! My heart was pounding and I was actually shaking a little bit. It felt so great, and made all the hard work so worthwhile! Check out the screams and squeels... (Let's hope this is the wildest it ever gets in there! HA!)
Oh, and we also had cupcakes (and balloons, but I am sure you saw those in the above pics. They are the pink circles all over the floor) to celebrate the "opening ceremony" of the locker room. Look how cute they are...they matched. And aren't we clever, we made them spell out MHS!
Olympics! We will miss you, but we will be getting more sleep now that you are over. I saw on the news today that you were the most watched televised event in the history of television! Congrats. I hope that in 4 years (in London) you are as fun to watch and exciting as you were this year!!! I think that might be impossible though. Oh well. We'll see!
